Before you proceed to check out . . .

We want you to be supremely happy with your order.
So remember, we’re not shipping books here!
Rice pudding is temperature-sensitive, meaning it is PERISHABLE and should not be left on a doorstep.
Not only should it be refrigerated, it should be consumed within 5 to 7 days.
If you are not able to personally accept your delivery, we suggest you ship to:
-Your workplace
-A relative or neighbor
-A trustworthy friend (if you have one)
You can also choose a particular delivery date that fits your schedule.
If you are sending rice pudding as a gift, a great option is an e-gift certificate, which allows the lucky recipient to choose his or her own date of delivery and favorite flavor.
Make sure we’re all on the same page by reading our Terms and Liabilities.
We reserve the right to modify these Terms and Liabilities at any time. Users should check Terms and Liabilities periodically for changes. If at any time you chose not to accept any of the Terms and Liabilities, please do not use this site.

  

TERMS FOR ORDERING

Shipping perishable items can be tricky but we are experts at it, so rest assured your rice pudding will arrive at your door safe and sound. Please familiarize yourself with all of the following Terms and Liabilities before you order.

The customer is solely responsible for accuracy of shipping addresses and ensuring that adequate arrangements are made to receive delivery. If the customer is not available at the time of delivery or does not make arrangements for someone else to be available, or provides inaccurate address information, then Rice to Riches will not be responsible for undeliverable packages.

Please provide a daytime phone number where you or the recipient can be reached on the day of delivery.

Delivery is available in the Continental United States, Hawaii and Alaska. We cannot ship to P.O. Boxes, APO or FPO addresses.

 

Order and Delivery Schedule:

Please select the date you want your rice pudding to arrive. Orders may be placed up to one month in advance. All rice pudding is shipped overnight, so remember that shipping date will be one day prior to delivery date.

Standard delivery is from Tuesday through Friday. Orders placed on Friday, Saturday or Sunday will be shipped on Monday and delivered on Tuesday unless otherwise specified.

 

For Saturday delivery, our standard rates apply, plus an additional $15.00 charge from FedEx.

 

There is no delivery on Sundays, Mondays and the following holidays:

Memorial Day

Independence Day

Labor Day

Thanksgiving Day

Christmas Day

New Years Day

 

Online orders may be placed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We recommend ordering online because you will receive a confirmation email containing both an order number and a FedEx tracking number. Also, when ordering online you can see all the product options with flavor descriptions and allergy information, view answers to our Frequently Asked Questions, review Terms and Liabilities, and save your billing and delivery information for the next time you order (optional). Rice to Riches complies with industry standards to ensure that your personal information is protected and secure.

 

We do not accept order requests sent by fax, email, or standard mail.

Orders must be placed before 12:00 PM (EST) for next day (overnight) delivery. All orders placed after 12:00 PM (EST) will be shipped the following day.

Due to the perishable nature of our product, all rice pudding orders must be shipped overnight and will arrive by 8:00 PM the next day. It is your responsibility to ensure that the rice pudding is refrigerated as soon as possible after the shipment has been received.

 

Cancelling an Order:

 

All changes, including cancellations, must be received via phone no later than 12:00 PM (EST) the day prior to your delivery. Call 212-274-0008. Rice to Riches will not accept cancellation via email, fax, skywriting, Morse code or any method other than a direct phone conversation. 

 

Correcting An Error In Shipping Address:

 

 

In the event that an incorrect shipping address was submitted, call Rice to Riches as soon as possible and we will make our best effort to correct the problem. If the order has not yet left Rice to Riches, we will change the ship-to information with FedEx.

If you require a change of delivery address after the package has left Rice to Riches and is in transit, an additional FedEx fee of $10.00 will be charged to your credit card. The customer will also be responsible for any additional shipping charges that FedEx may apply for rerouting the package. It is likely the package will still arrive in a timely manner. However, Rice to Riches will not refund the cost of the product or the shipping or offer a replacement if the Rice Pudding spoils as a result of incorrect shipping information provided by the customer.

 

Receiving The Package:

 

When sending to a residential address, it is standard practice to leave the package at the door if no one is home. Rice to Riches is not responsible for the package or contents once FedEx has dropped off the parcel. So please tell the recipient that a package is coming and to be on the lookout. When shipping to multi-unit buildings, the package may be delivered to the apartment office or mailroom and should be retrieved as soon as possible.

Additionally, please note that although FedEx will usually deliver the parcel even if no one is home, if the driver thinks it’s unsafe to leave the package unattended he can chose not to do so. This is another reason we strongly suggest that someone be available to personally receive the package.

 

Shipping to hospitals, college dormitories, hotels and apartment complexes:

 

We guarantee delivery to the mailroom or receiving department of the college, hotel, hospital, or complex. It is then up to the mailroom or receiving department to deliver the package to the correct recipient in a timely manner. This may cause delays, as the mailroom of the residence may not guarantee delivery within a given amount of time.

We strongly recommend you let the recipient know to expect a package with perishable contents.

 

An e-gift certificate is a wonderful way to send rice pudding without worrying about the package spoiling in an empty mailroom. Your college student or friend with a broken leg will immediately receive an email allowing them to select a flavor and date of delivery for the rice pudding you have so generously purchased for them. That way it will arrive when the lucky eater is expecting it.

 

Sending to a prison:

 

If the order is being shipped to a prison, there may be delivery restrictions associated with the items or shippers. These restrictions are determined by the penitentiary and may vary.

 

HOW WE PACK & SHIP:

 

 

We use a guaranteed delivery service (Federal Express) to ensure that your package arrives in the best possible condition. You will be provided with a tracking number to use on the FedEx website or on the “Track My Package “ section of the Rice to Riches website.

Our rice pudding is shipped in custom-designed, quality-tested packaging guaranteeing freshness and safety. We use an airtight insulated box with safe, reusable frozen gel packs that ensure perfect storage temperature during shipment.

Your order arrives with a packing list, general care instructions for your Rice Pudding, and a Rice to Riches menu.

Your invoice will NOT be sent together with your Rice Pudding. You will receive it via e-mail unless otherwise requested. This insures your privacy in the event you are shipping to someone other than yourself.

 

TAXES:

 

 

There are only two certainties in life, and one of them is taxes. Rice to Riches collects sales tax on all products to be shipped to locations in and outside of New York State. The rate of sales tax applied to all products will be the rate applicable in New York, NY at the time of purchase. To make ordering simple and easy, Rice to Riches includes taxes in the rice pudding prices listed on the website. You will therefore not see a separate charge for taxes on your invoice.

 

SATISFACTION GUARANTEE & RETURN POLICY:

 

 

Our rice pudding and our services are backed by a 100% customer satisfaction guarantee. If you are dissatisfied, please call us at (212) 274-0008. You have up to 72 hours after receiving your rice pudding to inform us of a problem. We will work to resolve the matter and each complaint will be handled on a case-by-case basis.

 

At the customer's expense, Rice to Riches, Inc. may require you to return the product with which you are dissatisfied in order to determine if a substitution or refund of your money is appropriate. Do not discard the insulated box, reusable frozen gel packs or other packing materials if there are any problems with your rice pudding. These items may be necessary for return shipment to Rice to Riches. Credit will not be granted if the items you wish to have refunded are discarded or partially consumed.

If a Rice to Riches representative tells you over the phone to do so, please return your order and all original packaging to us at the address below. You must use a delivery service that provides a tracking number and also requires a signature for verification of receipt.  We recommend FedEx, UPS or USPS registered mail. Please ensure that your package is insured and that shipping charges are prepaid. We do not accept returns via COD.

Do not return product to us in the mail without first speaking to someone in our office.

All returned items will be inspected and you may be offered a replacement order, refund, or credit towards future purchases, less any taxes, delivery, shipping, or handling charges. If the return is a result of our error, the full cost for the merchandise and shipping charges will be refunded.

Once it has been determined that the customer qualifies for a refund, Rice to Riches issues the refund immediately. The amount of time the refund takes to post to the customer’s account depends on the policies of their credit card or financial institution.

 

EXCEPTIONS FROM LIABILITY:

 

 

Rice to Riches’ refund policy excludes the following conditions and events:

 

1. Disruptions to FedEx operations: Rice to Riches will not be held liable for delays due to compromised FedEx deliveries. FedEx occasionally suspends its shipping guarantees for all services. This usually occurs just before the Christmas Holiday or due to weather conditions. On those occasions, Rice to Riches must also suspend its delivery guarantee.

 

2. Unattended packages: Rice to Riches will not refund or replace packages left unattended after delivery. It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure that someone will receive the package, and it will be the sender’s responsibility to cover the costs for replacement and re-delivery of a product in the event that we were provided with an incorrect address, incorrect delivery date, or if the recipient was out of town or unavailable at the time of delivery.

 

3. Incorrect delivery address or undeliverable location: It is the customer’s sole responsibility to provide an accurate delivery address. Please see “Terms for Ordering.” Rice to Riches will not be responsible for additional shipping fees nor will we refund the cost of product or shipping if the rice pudding spoils as a result of an incorrect address. Rice to Riches will not refund the cost of product or shipping if an order is returned to us as undeliverable.

 

4. “Acts of God” Rice to Riches will not be held liable for products damaged or

delayed due to extreme weather conditions or “Acts of God,” strikes, riots, insurrection, fires, floods, storms, explosion, governmental action, labor conditions, war, earthquakes, or any other causes that are beyond our reasonable control.
